REFLECTION

Are you getting old or you are getting goals? Summer holidays have come and gone and now its time to face the hurdles of this new beginning of the year  of 2016. How near have we got to the goals as for last year. If we are now feeling a bit refreshed after the December celebration. It is a good moment to start  to reflect for the final spirit. Lets begin again.    How nice it would be if we could turn back the clock which was tickling away relentlessly and live again those days of our youth  when we  had our whole lives ahead of us. Do you remember when you were a small child young children have great capacity for wonder. They love things which are beautiful. And even the finest flower  attracts their attention and fills them with amazement. If we lose this ability to marvel at the world  around  us and to feel the optimism of a life worth living, it is a sign we are growing old. Do you remember your adolescent age? Those were turbulent days when we were filled with ideals and wanted to change the world immediately, we were  determined to remedy all the social ideas we saw around us.. We could not understand  why adult seems to be doing nothing  which appeared each day in the new or everyday life. We were going to do something about them when we left  school, then we finished our schooling and went to work and the years rolled by.
I once Saw a cartoon which  showed a car  approaching a narrow untarred  road  full of ridges left by cars that had passed previously , there was a sign board  which read choose your rut carefully, you will stay in them for the next kilometers . Many of us have got  stuck in the hectic professional  life's we choose x years ago  so that as we actually grew older we never  had a moment  to turn our ideals into reality. Never mind we say to ourselves, when I have made my fortune and retire I will have time to  spend  more time with my family . I will donate to those worth while project which I dreamt of in my school days and the world I live behind will be a better place for young people . Our goals have to be in our head and in our heart as we have to work towards them little bit little. , day by day with the reality of our daily well thought out action .
Let us take advantage  of today and lets spend time now with the children and the family . I recently read an article “titled it is more enriching to read with mum than to  play or watch TV with her” in which Norberto Gonzalez  comments on research  carried out  which has showed  that  reading is the most enriching activity for the mother-toddler relationship. Playing with the child [under 3 years old] ranked  as  the immediate  runner up.  It made me realize that  we are also enriched  when  we read  or play with the children  because   it helps us not only to bond  with them and love them more but  also to get back the light heartedness and joy  of the happy  times we spent with our families when we were small. It’s more the amount of time that we  have spent with the children that the amount of  money we have spent  on their education. This will build up their character and help them have happy lives. Perhaps  we could try to carve out time from busy office timetable and professional commitment to nurture our family life and help in task that made our life more meaningful . In this way we never grow old and  we will get our goals.. So  get your  goals and don't get old.
